Booo... we may have to forego a trip if it starts getting too expensive. Since Eka is going to Utah to visit her friend... well, I'm ok not going there. :P LOL! The only reason I'd go there is to see David.
ETA: I've updated the spreadsheet. It's formulated so that whatever number you add on it, the formula will add the costs to your trip. I put a column for each of us. Maddi=pink, Kiki=Orange & Eka= Lavender. ENJOY. It'll be up to you to add your "Food/Leisure" costs. :P

As for skipping SLC, I'm okay with not spending much time there. It just seems though, that we'd have to pass through it anyway. So, instead of spending time in the city, we could just drive through and maybe spend a couple hours there or something. Take a picture of Murray park and get the heck out of there! lol. It's about 17 hours from Coeur d'Alene to Vegas, so we could drive straight through if we wanted, or just stop someplace quickly.
It's tricky though, if we tried to skip SLC altogether because of the Western geography. I'm not sure I'd like backtracking and driving from Seattle to Vegas in almost the same areas as we drove up, you know? So, would driving relatively quickly through SLC be okay with you guys?
Of course, this is only if we decide we need to cut costs, as you said, Maddi!!
Lets see... If we can split the time in driving, I think we can make it to Vegas. We'll be tired as heck but at least we'll be in Vegas and we would've saved money for accommodations... teehee!

The entrance for the National Park is $25/vehicle. Might as well add it to the spreadsheet! I would, but I don't think I'm able to.
ReplyDeleteHere's another thought......if we decided to go from SLC to the Grand Canyon and then on to Vegas, then we could just drive to the north rim, and get there at night sometime. Then, we could wake up early and spend the day venturing around the national park. We could just drive then that night to Las Vegas. It's only about 250 miles, and would take us less than 5 hours. I wouldn't mind getting in to our hotel in Vegas late at night!
